Review: Dremel 4000-6/50 120-Volt Variable-Speed Rotary Kit

A rotary tool offers users so many options that it's one tool no homeowner should be without. In the Dremel 4000-6/50 120-Volt Variable-Speed Rotary Kit, you get a tool about the size of one of those universal remote controls. You would think something so slender couldn't possibly have so much power packed in it, but while it looks small, it does have a lot of power as well as versatile uses. Using this tool, you can work on craft projects, do some woodworking or other hobbies or work on those honey-do projects. It's even handy in the yard because you can use it to keep the blades on yard tools, including lawn mowers, sharp and in shape. With a solid reputation, this Dremel product is ergonomically built - and once you have one, you'll wonder how you managed without it. You can use the tool for working with wood projects, including small ones like setting up miniatures - and you can use it for sanding paint - including from delicate pieces. It can also be used for polishing or for cutting, carving and lots more. How can a tool this small be so versatile? The motor brings 5,000 to 35,000 rpm to the tasks you want to use it for and it has a built in circuitry that keeps the speed at the optimal level for whatever you're doing - this is the tool's electronic feedback system. The slender tool can be held at any angle and the location of the power switch won't get in your way when you're working with it. It has plenty of room to move about with the accompanying 6-foot power cord. Accuracy is enabled through the nose cap and the tool's brushes are all replaceable. The rate of speed feedback is easy to see - and when you need to switch tip accessories, you just secure the output shaft. Since the tool is barely more than a pound, you won't stress your hands and wrists no matter how long or how often you use it. A great benefit with purchasing this tool is that it can be used with the other Dremel parts - including the Planer and Multisaw. Other benefits are the Detailer's Grip and the guide for sanding or grinding. Included in the kit are a variety of pieces - 50 different accessories in all. Some of those accessories are cutters, sanding discs and an engraving cutter. Along with the accessories, you'll get an additional six attachments and a book to help guide you in using the rotary tool. The Dremel 120v Rotary Kit has a 5-year warranty with the purchase.
